Carrie Knoll, M.D.
Providing quality medical care for children and adolescents
Over 50 years of service to the children and families in our community.
Experienced dedicated medical assistants who are happy to help our patients.
Dr. Carrie Knoll joined Pomona Pediatrics in 1998, returning after a long and somewhat circuitous path, not only to her home town of Claremont, but to the same practice where she had been treated as a child.
Interested in everything from Art History, to Literature and Mathematics she graduated from Cal State LA with a degree in Liberal Studies. She then shifted her focus to science and taught Chemistry and General Science a local high school.
Still striving for higher achievement, she applied to medical school and was accepted to the Medical College of Wisconsin, which she attended on a Navy scholarship.
She began her training in Pediatrics in San Francisco, but that training was interrupted by a call to Duty by the United States Navy. She served for three years as a General Medical Officer in the rank of Lieutenant, in Naples, Italy, before returning to Loma Linda to complete her Pediatric Residency.
A passion for travel and a keen curiosity about people has led her to many parts of the world. She has studied medicine in Nepal, as well as volunteered with Operation Smile on medical missions to Thailand and to Kenya.
She is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Additionally, Carrie is a Sleep Medicine Specialist and practices part-time at the Pomona Valley Hospital Adult and Children’s Sleep Disorder Center. Can’t get your child to go to bed? She’s the person to go to!
Carrie’s husband Paul is a ceramic artist and teaches art at Foothill Country Day School. They have 2 grown children.
